Sub-Genre Research
This diagram shows five main types of horror GORE & DISTURBING, PSYCHOLOGICAL, KILLER, MONSTER and PARANORMAL broken down into sub genres.
My Chosen Genre - PSYCHOLOGICAL
Sub-genre - FANTATICISM + MADNESS & PARANOIA
Psychological horror movies aim to create emotional discomfort in the audience and its purpose is to reveal the darker parts of the human mind, which most people choose to suppress.
Those films show the significance in perverse situations, struggle with hard, inhumane choices, supernatural, morals, conspiracies and belief systems. My OTS is focused around cultural manifesto, madness, vision, communion and sacrifice for a cause.
Classic Examples of this Genre would be Jacob's Ladder (1990), The Wicker Man (1973), Seven (1995) or Frailty (2001).

My trailer will be focusing on the terror caused by cults and beliefs. It will explore the theme of human subordination and how fanaticism can affect the actions. Madness is also a key part in it, linking with the personal, brutal and realistic effects of it - murder and suicide.
