Casting Decisions
Jonathan Ke Quan
I thought Ty's facial features resemble Johathan's ones the most, mostly because of the ethnicity but also facial expressions and body movement. He's a famous actor and stunt choreographer mostly known from starring in Indiana Jones or The Goonies. Having him as a main character definitely gives my film more diversity that I feel horror industry needs more. In addition world's best horrors tend to be from Asian cinematography, which I feel like it would hint at in the OTS. |
Zachary Quinto
Kyle reminded me of Zachary mostly because of his big, deep eyes and very angular eyebrows. I feel like their demeanour is very similar, as I watched Zachary in productions such as AHS and he successfully acted in roles that are fairly sinister and serious, just as I want Kyle to be in my OTS. I would definitely be glad to have him as a strange character that could be a suspect in the film, potentially a villain, because he has lots of traits that highlight the uncertainty and sinister atmosphere. |
Ryan Gosling
Rowan reminds me of Ryan Gosling's way of acting because of the typically romantic and mysterious behaviour. Ryan is famous from his roles in La La Land and Drive, perfectly acting out his characters through body movement which makes him such a talented actor. In horror I feel like that would be perfect for very thoughtful character that gives the film a sense of stability or something to reflect on, in this case the theme of suicide and mental effects. |
Christopher Mintz-Plasse
Shawn and Christopher are incredibly similar which is the main reason I chose this role. Secondly I feel like this actor is perfect for side characters, as he's pretty quirky and unique, which resembles Shawn's role in my OTS. I felt like he's perfect for the typical side character in a horror of a 'friend' that dies pretty quickly but keeps some level of comedy or natural atmosphere in the film. In the end we didn't use Shawn's face in the video, however his voice was used as an narration which is far more interesting in my opinion. |
